Shohola House

Country home for an urban family.  In a natural clearing overlooking the Delaware River in Pennsylvania, the house is centered on a large open loft.  The kitchen, bathrooms and sleeping spaces are clustered around and below this family space, which also has a green roof accessed from the mezzanine level.  The simple materials and massing recall many of the traditional homes and farm structures of the area, while the modern detailing and fenestration seek to engage and frame the site, inside and out.  As an associate at Bromley Caldari Architects.
